U.S. Coast Guard Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, WG 5306-10 in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts

Summary The position is located in the Structural Maintenance Division, Facilities Engineering Department of Base Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay, MA. Responsibilities The purpose of the position is to maintain, repair and install air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems. Being a civilian working for the U.S. Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member. Typical duties include: -Installing, repairing, overhauling and/or performing service and preventive maintenance on a variety of commercial and industrial air conditioners, geo-thermal systems, variable refrigerant flow systems, air compressors, boilers, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, freezers, ventilation systems and all associated controls and ancillary equipment. -Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment to trace and locate defects and malfunctions. -Repairing installing overhauling and/or performing service and preventive maintenance to auxiliary equipment (motors, blowers, pilots, filters, thermostats, pressurestats, humidstats, relays, switches, etc.) -Managing and operating various Building automation Systems (BAS) for the major HVAC systems. -Performingemergency maintenance and repairing to a HVAC system in a live firing indoor range. -EPA Certification “Proper Refrigerant Practices” Type II or Universal is required.-Acquiring and maintining a Level II Contracting Officer's Certification. Requirements Conditions of Employment Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. U.S. Citizenship is required. The position requires a valid state driver's license.
