U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance Mechanic (Public Works) Supervisor, WS-4749-14 in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts

Summary

This position is located inthe Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Base Cape Cod,Public Works Division, Buzzards Bay, MA.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for conducting all tasks necessary to manage and oversee four branch supervisors through maintenance and repair of all facilities, government housing, grounds, airfield, and associated equipment including vehicles, tractors, mowers, snow plows, and aviation ground support equipment.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member for the Coast Guard team:Typical work assignments include:- Managing all corrective and preventive maintenance repair activities, including submission and timely execution, for both in house and contracted work.- Developing scopes of work for and management of large maintenance projects involving extensive coordination of separate shops, trades, and contractors.- Managing and tracking of division spending including providing spend plans and budget requests to the Assistant Facility Engineer.- Ensuring work activities are conducted efficiently and implementing cost saving practices as appropriate.- Ensuring appropriate supplies are on hand to accomplish assigned work.- Ensuring safe and efficient use of work force, vehicles, and other equipment utilizing industrial engineering techniques.- Conducting quality control checks of all work and worker customer service.- Liaising with the Environmental Health and Safety Division on worker safety and environmental compliance of projects.- Facilitating positive communication with building occupants and residents on expected work and timelines.- Advising the Facility Engineer and Assistant Facility Engineer with technical recommendations on projects and repair for feasibility and execution.

The position requires a valid state driver's license.
