    Job Description

ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATOR, MITX MICROMASTERS IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCM), Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to work with the executive director on supporting strategic and operational planning activities for the MITx MicroMasters Program. Will be involved in all aspects of a learner’s journey through the program. Responsibilities include advising students on academic issues related to the program; providing online learners with instructions and rules while collaborating closely with the course leads, faculty, and staff of five massive open online courses to encourage successful learner completion; acting as the primary resource for faculty and students regarding MITx policies/procedures; coordinating administrative activities and logistics for communications/marketing activities and events across social media, direct emailing, and other means; promoting MicroMasters courses and other activities; and raising awareness about the growth of the MicroMasters in SCM community of learners. The MITx MicroMasters Program in SCM (https://micromasters.mit.edu/scm/) was the first large-scale global online MicroMasters program and strives to offer high-quality education and engaging learning experiences to thousands of learners around the world.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or related field; three years' academic administration experience; excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, writing, and proofreading skills; self-motivation; ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results while managing multiple priorities; attention to detail; ability to engage with online learners and work effectively with MIT researchers, staff, and faculty; proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and data analysis. PREFERRED: master’s degree in fields noted above; experience building an online community and planning and executing events/meetings; proficiency with Salesforce, Tableau, databases, web-based tools, video production tools/platforms, and technology and communication tools to create content for websites and social media platforms.
