Knowledge of local transit system and other transportation options in greater Boston and Massachusetts preferred. Familiarity with Harvard a plus. Additional Information:• Plan and participate in CommuterChoice promotional events, such as Bay State Bike Week and school informational fairs, including promotions to inform faculty, staff, and students about sustainable transportation options and benefits, and encourage participation in such modes and programs.• Represent Harvard University at related community meetings and internal committees such as the Joint Housing and Transportation group.• Work in close collaboration with departments including the Office for Sustainability and the Harvard Planning Office to identify collaborative projects and synergies as related to transportation issues. Coordinate safety and enforcement efforts with the Harvard University Police Department, especially in regards to pedestrian and bicycle safety concerns across campus. • Consult with project and building managers and other University stakeholders on appropriate bicycle, pedestrian, and transit facilities. Create and update guidelines and procedures for development of sustainable transportation features consistent with University, City and State requirements and expectations. • Foster relationships and with local advocacy groups, statewide offices and national organizations including MassDOT, Walk Boston, MassBike, MassRIDES, the Best Workplace for Commuters, the Association for Commuter Transportation, the League of American Bicyclists and the Department of Energy. Act as a liaison between these groups and the Harvard community to advocate for service improvements to benefit the Harvard community. Coordinate efforts with University stakeholders to complete award applications to achieve statewide and national recognition for sustainable transportation offerings.• Work on other projects as the need arises and offer support in the event of workload fluctuations. Department:TransportationPre-Employment Screening:Education, Employment, IdentitySchedule:Mon - Friday 8:00 - 5:00Job Function:General Administration Duties & Responsibilities:• Work with CommuterChoice Associate Director of Commuter Choice, TDM and Sustainability to establish short and long terms goals and objectives, monitor efforts, and set milestones to measure success. Assist Associate Director of Commuter Choice, TDM and Sustainability in managing the workflow of the office by designing and streamlining policies, procedures, processes and operations to ensure ease of use and optimal relevance for constituents. Develop and support special projects, new initiatives, and strengthen and refine existing programmatic offerings. Act as a contact for internal and external constituents on sustainable transit related matters.• Develop, implement and administer systems to monitor and increase enrollment in various programs including but not limited to carpools, vanpools, Zipcar, Blue Bikes, the Bicycle Commuter Benefit and the MBTA pass program. Work to develop policies and procedures in collaboration with departments and units in implementing new and existing programs. • Provide customer service and support for users of CommuterChoice benefit programs. Liaise with benefit stakeholders and contractors to ensure high quality customer experiences. Perform audits of benefit utilization to ensure appropriate use of program terms and conditions.• Develop, maintain and coordinate content of CommuterChoice website with strong ability to write and edit with great attention to grammar. Coordinate overall management of website content including conducting proactive web maintenance including review, refresh and edit all website content. Develop mechanisms to enhance website functionality and navigational ease to enhance user experiences. Explore and develop opportunities to promote CommuterChoice’s online presence via utilization of various social media tools as appropriate. Find new and interesting ways to use the web site as a vehicle for communicating with internal and external audiences. • Create and update content for the Harvard Planning Office Town Gown Report. Lead annual transportation survey efforts, coordinating data collection process with various University stakeholders and external contractors. Synthesize survey results into annual PTDM report for the City of Cambridge and the DEP report for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. • Compose, proofread, edit and prepare correspondence, reports and other promotional materials using word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and/or databases to create consistent branding. Perform data collection/analysis/reporting and dissemination by way of surveys, focus groups, and/or reports that aid the University in planning efforts.• Develop, design and deliver outreach materials such as posters, tabling materials, talking points and presentations. Present and market new materials, programs and events to internal and externalaffiliates including representing the CommuterChoice program at conferences, workshops, and meetings. Develop and implement marketing strategies utilizing online, print, and interpersonal communications to enhance existing programs and promote new initiatives. Work with Campus Services Director of Strategic Planning & Communications and employees of Harvard and Public Affairs and Communication to ensure consistent messaging in accordance with Campus Services and University wide standards.
