ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Sloan School of Management-Behavioral and Policy Sciences Area (BPS), to perform diverse duties for faculty and the academic area and provide administrative support for multiple programs and projects. Will schedule appointments and meetings; make travel arrangements and prepare multifaceted itineraries; use broad understanding of policies and procedures to respond to inquiries, provide explanations and instructions, and ensure inquiries are resolved; compose and edit correspondence and documents; resolve complicated issues in a thorough and timely manner; design PowerPoint presentations; use desktop publishing to create drafts of work area publications; coordinate complex mass mailings; input, update, and maintain web content; monitor and order inventory, working within established supply budgets; maintain databases; research and gather information for projects; coordinate high-profile events and seminars; assist with the preparation of materials such as grant proposals, tenure cases, and site visits; monitor and reconcile accounting statements; prepare and process purchasing, accounting, and travel forms; attend high-level meetings and record minutes; train others regarding policies and procedures; serve as liaison between faculty and other groups; and perform related duties as requested.
REQUIRED: a minimum of three years’ administrative, office, or related experience; advanced computer software skills; ability to easily negotiate the web; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; initiative; flexibility and openness to change; ability to anticipate and prioritize effectively; a proactive approach to projects, problem solving, communication needs, and planning; and the ability to demonstrate good judgment, discretion, and diplomacy and to own and follow through on tasks.
