Job Description
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, PH.D. PROGRAM, Sloan School of Management, to perform diverse and complex administrative and student service duties in support of the Ph.D. Program in Management and the Ph.D. program director. Will work closely with the director and assistant director to facilitate multiple projects and initiatives; provide high-level organizational and administrative support; update and maintain student records and databases, providing recommendations for improved office efficiency; perform financial duties, including purchasing, vendor agreements, payments, and financial review and control (FRC); plan, organize, and execute various programs and events, overseeing internal and external customer and vendor relationships while monitoring budget and expenses; monitor and update social media accounts and the internal Ph.D. Program student portal; and create student newsletter to disseminate Ph.D. Program, Sloan, and MIT information. Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative support, office, or related experience; excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management, writing, editing, and proofreading skills; meticulous attention to detail; discretion with confidential issues and information; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and willingness to learn new programs/software as needed. Must be able to communicate effectively with a global population; handle multiple tasks simultaneously; independently resolve complex problems in a thorough and timely manner; prioritize and follow through on tasks; demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in addressing the unexpected; and work as part of a team. PREFERRED: a bachelor’s degree, experience planning small to complex events, experience with social media, and MIT work experience. Job #23134-5
Salary range: $25.00 – 29.00/hour, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity. Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
