• Must have an ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with colleagues across all levels; as well as with alumni, volunteers, faculty, administrators, and students.

• Experience working directly with donors and volunteers preferred.

• Must be professional, proactive, motivated to learn, open to change, and results oriented.

• Comfortable managing change and working in a dynamic environment.

• Requires attention to detail, poise, and diplomacy given interaction with senior administration, faculty, and colleagues; flexibility; and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and under deadline pressure.

• Proven ability working in a complex organization and making informed decisions in the context of strategic organizational goals and policies. Must be able to work independently and take initiative, and handle confidential materials with discretion.

• Ability to craft talking points for organizational leaders and be comfortable prepping leaders for meetings and events.

• Needs excellent interpersonal, written, presentation, and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required; must have experience with Windows and databases.

• Oversees and manages all SEAS Cabinet activity including strategy development in partnership with donor development partners, planning of annual gatherings in coordination with events staff, curating meeting content and programming, and developing, drafting, and coordinating communications and meeting materials (briefings, member onboarding materials, pre-reads, etc.) for review by Managing Director and SEAS Dean.

• Staffs cabinet meetings and annual task forces.

• Develops engagement programming and content for SEAS Cabinet meetings, Task Force gatherings, and as needed other leadership committee groups, working closely with fundraisers and event planning colleagues. Oversees outreach to, briefing processes for (in-person and written), and follow-up with any speakers at Cabinet related activities.

• Works with Managing Director to develop fiscal year plans for SEAS Cabinet and Task Force activity.

• Oversees the work of a coordinator who supports SEAS Cabinet and Task Force activity.

• Coordinates and communicates with fundraisers on SEAS donor engagement strategies. Works to ensure that strategies are developed/implemented in ways that advance the fundraising priorities of the FAS and University.

• Responsible for arranging and coordinating planning meetings as needed related to SEAS Cabinet activity, and attends planning meetings, training sessions, events, and conferences as necessary.

• Responsible for building pipeline of membership for SEAS Cabinet in coordination with donor development partners, and executing annual rotation of Cabinet membership and onboarding new members.

• Will assume other volunteer and committee management responsibilities as needed to support FAS priorities at the direction of the Senior Associate Director of Leadership Engagement.

• Cultivates favorable working relationships with institutional and external constituencies, while providing the highest level of client service.

The Academic and Donor Engagement (ADE), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) team manages and implements donor engagement strategies and activities by facilitating coordination between the development office and the FAS Dean, SEAS Dean, academic deans and faculty, senior academic administrators, and development leadership. The supports event content and programming, manages development trips for the aforementioned constituencies, and assists in the strategic development and execution of leadership engagement committees and their activities across the FAS.

This position will sit within ADE and report to the Senior Associate Director of Leadership Engagement. This role will manage the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) Dean’s Cabinet, a donor engagement committee comprised of many of the school’s top and largest potential donors, devising an annual roadmap of engagement for the Cabinet and any related Task Forces in partnership with the Managing Director, Major Gifts, SEAS. They will serve as a project manager for all SEAS Cabinet related activity and support additional leadership engagement committees on an ad-hoc basis.
