Biogen Associate Scientist III, Technical Development in Cambridge, Massachusetts
About This Role Associate Scientist III will support development, optimization, qualification, execution and troubleshooting of various bioassays to characterize large molecule products (recombinant proteins and gene therapies). What You'll Do * Develop, qualify and perform assays to measure levels of residual host cell protein impurities, target binding and functional potency for both innovator and biosimilar programs * Assist in the engineering of cell lines to support the development of cell-based functional assays * Implementation of experiments, data analysis, accurate record keeping, report writing and reviewing, as well as delivering internal technical presentations. * Involved in new technology evaluations and implementation. Who You Are You are a fast learner with strong scientific curiosity, an attention for detail and good interpersonal skills. You must be able to work independently and as a part of a team. Required Skills * B.S. with 3+ years of experience in Biochemistry, Biology, or related Biological Sciences * M.S. with 0+ years of experience in Biochemistry, Biology, or related Biological Sciences * Strong experience with mammalian cell culture and immunoassays Preferred Skills * Previous work with AAV and lentivirus and hands-on experience in transgenic cell line generation and assay development and/or method troubleshooting * Familiarity with molecular techniques (primer design, restriction digestion, DNA electrophoresis, PCR, etc), various detection technologies (fluorescence, luminescence, ECL, etc.), statistical analysis for biological assays and automation * Candidates with industry experience *Why Biogen? * Our mission to find therapies for neurological and rare diseases is a unique focus within our industry and this shared purpose is what connects us as a team.
