The Delivery Excellence Services (DES) group in the Business Excellence and Operations (BEO) organization within Microsoft Services carries a vision to Equip, Enable and Support world class services delivery across the lifecycle for Microsoft customers, with an aspiration to be the Trusted advisors to Microsoft Services Leadership across Delivery Domains & Areas for enabling Delivery Consistency, Predictability & Quality.
The Business and People Programs Lead, is a people manager role and part of the Delivery Excellence Services (DES) group in the Business Excellence and Operations (BEO) organization. This role is pivotal for leading a team executing on the delivery excellence strategy and for successfully executing on the business and people programs. While the people programs are internal to DES and are about the improvement initiatives based on feedback, the business programs are about ensuring that we are executing to plan with the right outcomes using consistent processes and tools thereby enabling the field with improved customer delivery processes and tool improvements. This role leads a high-performance team of seasoned program managers well versed in delivery management practices, and trends, is a collaborative business leader with strong project/program management experience, understanding of the consulting delivery and project management disciplines, and the ability to successfully influence in a highly matrixed environment. This role is a part of the DES Leadership Team (LT) and partners with the LT representing cross-functional disciplines, to plan and improve on program delivery processes and tools as well as people programs.

Responsibilities
Strategic Programs: Help evolve the DES Strategy roadmap and improve planning, OKR definition/success measurement and execution
People Programs : Help evolve & execute DES People Strategy, and develop a sustainable, global team culture based on agility, quality, success and fun.
ROB and Communications Programs: Improve ROB and impact communications across DES.
Insights: Maximize DES impact by helping the DES team up-level business Insights and connecting the dots to accelerate Consumption, increase Delivery Maturity, and drive a culture of customer obsession. Help measure and improve DES Tools Experience and PjM Productivity by leveraging advanced analytics and enabling data driven decision making.
People Leader

PMO: Enable DES team to maximize impact to Domains & Areas via streamlined program & portfolio management practices & tools including Prioritization Governance, Artifact Governance and Process Governance.
Maximize the impact of DES to Domains and Areas by assuring that all functions are prioritizing their workloads based on business impact
Enable consistency, predictability and quality of DES output through improved Process and Artifact Governance
Increase DES productivity, efficiency and agility while improving DES employee satisfaction through improved process and progress governance
Qualifications
We are looking for a collaborative leader with strong portfolio management and program management experience, understanding of the consulting services delivery and project management disciplines, and the ability to successfully influence in a highly matrixed environment.
10 years of experience in Program/Project Management or comparable experience
8 years of experience in Consulting Delivery Portfolio Management or comparable experience
Prior experience leading and delivering organizational maturity initiatives for building consistency, predictability and quality of customer project delivery leading to positive business outcomes and improved customer satisfaction
Experience in effective global communication skills, impact and influence across a diverse set of stakeholders
Ability to develop strategic ongoing customer relationships, building trust and respect for the company.
Ability to drive, impact and influence stakeholders across varying roles ranging from Delivery Domain/Practice leaders, CTOs, Delivery Management and Sales/Pursuit roles
Prior experience in managing a program portfolio with a focus on people, customer delivery and operational efficiency for achieving high employee & customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
Prior experience in managing large programs spanning multiple stakeholder groups (employees, customers and partners) across Local / Regional / Global Areas
Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Customer/Partner Relationships, Product & Technology
Adept at creating clarity, generating energy, team building and mentoring skills
Demonstrated capability in developing and retaining professional talent
Demonstrated ability to lead delivery teams in a highly matrixed organization
