Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Central Services Technician III to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Cambridge, MA .

The Central Services Technician III , is responsible for overseeing the overall sanitation of cages and related equipment, including cage wash rooms, feed and bedding rooms, hallways, loading docks and other specific areas. Reviewing, comprehending, and complying with all SOPs and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals for research.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Schedule, monitor, train Central Services Technicians I and II.

  • Maintaining records pertaining to cagewash runs, operations, maintenance schedules etc.

  • Speaking with CBRE facilities about equipment failures work orders and making sure the equipment was fixed at timely manner.

  • Escorting third-party contractors, equipment techs, etc.

  • Perform sanitation for cages, other equipment, cagewash rooms, and other ancillary areas.

  • Transport caging and equipment between animal areas and cage washrooms.

  • Perform daily start-up and shut down procedures of the cage washer.

  • Receive and store feed, bedding, and supplies.

  • Ensure that all logbooks, checklists, and other records are completed in a timely fashion.

  • Conduct and collect various aseptic sampling for the monitoring of water quality, sanitized animal racks, and equipment.

  • Inspect enrichment devices, cages, and other items.

  • May monitor daily animal health and welfare.

  • May perform animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, to include: perform daily water bottle /automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; record animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols.

Job Qualifications

A candidate that possesses:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent

  • Minimum of two years experience working in a laboratory animal facility performing cage wash duties, scheduling staff and troubleshooting and identifying maintenance issues.

  • ALAT certification preferred.

The pay range for this position is $27.00-29.00 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
