Deck Manager - MIT Recreation (Cambridge, MA)

Part-time, 10 hours/week

MIT Recreation, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for Deck Managers to join the aquatic team on campus in Cambridge, MA. In this position, you will be responsible for safety, member engagement, and the quality of the aquatic programs during your shifts. You'll serve as a lifeguard and be responsible for pool deck maintenance and aquatic facility supervision.

What you'll be doing

• Monitor patrons using the facility and enforce/explain rules as necessary. Respond appropriately to any emergency situations.

• Track and monitor pool chemistry results and report facility issues to Aquatics Manager and General Manager.

• Provide leadership to facility by cleaning, pool deck maintenance, and aquatic program supervision.

• Assist Aquatics Manager with staff communications and attend all required staff meetings and trainings. Provide customer service and communication with members.

• Other duties as needed/assigned.

What you'll need to have

• Lifeguard certification from American Red Cross with two years of lifeguard experience.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
