  • Drupal, Wordpress and/or PHP experience.

Position Description:This is a fully benefited, full-time Harvard University position that has been funded through 9/30/2027. There is the possibility of renewal, contingent on funding, university priorities and satisfactory job performance.

DAS seeks a Digital Accessibility Developer with demonstrated experience in web accessibility and inclusive design. This position will report to the Manager of Digital Accessibility Development and work alongside DAS team members to deliver expert consultation, technical guidance, training, remediation support and customer service of the highest caliber. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of web accessibility standards and guidelines, design and usability, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience working with development teams and users of assistive technology to make websites and web-based applications accessible.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

  • Evaluates existing and new sites, platforms and web-based applications for conformance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines, using manual testing, automated tools, assistive technologies and code review.

  • Understanding of web technologies with particular attention to HTML, CSS and JavaScript in relation to digital accessibility.

Outreach, Training and Support

  • Produces informative and accurate reports that include conformance remediation recommendations and code-level examples to development teams and business owners.

  • Coaches project teams to incorporate accessibility and inclusive design principles from early planning through production.

  • Provides training and consultation that supports teams to incorporate accessibility and inclusive design in projects.

This position has been designated as a Partially on-site position (2 days per month). While this position is partially on-site, additional travel to campus may be necessary based on business needs and the nature of work.
