J&J Family of Companies Director, Cross- Sector Portfolio Management and Strategy Execution in Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Director, Cross- Sector Portfolio Management and Strategy Execution, Lung Cancer Initiative (LCI) primary responsibilities include contributing to execution of the short- and long-term LCI strategy as part of the LCI Strategy Execution Office (SEO). SEO team is passionate about ensuring the LCI strategy is efficiently and effectively executed. Through close partnership and problem solving with SEO leaders from scientific strategy, commercial strategy, program management, HR, legal, finance, operations, clinical team as well as with Scientific Leaders and Program Leaders, this position will focus on crafting processes, metrics, tools and ecosystem required to execute the LCI strategy. This includes partnering with program managers through a center of excellence (CoE) and operations leaders that will influence and lead project management across the LCI. A cross-sector approach with a deep understanding of Pharmaceutical new product development will be needed in order to assess, interpret and utilize project management practices across different types of pipelines, assets and, development stages.
This position will work with the LCI and World Without Disease Accelerator (WWDA) teams to ensure 1) effective cross-LCI and WWDA partnership on business processes, 2) operational excellence with the operations team (regulated and non-regulated process in collaboration with QA, RA and Compliance organizations, measures and management reporting). This individual will also take part in leading periodic business transformation activities in LCI as needed. It will work in close partnership with Global External Innovation (GEI) and other J&J PMO functions, serving as a liaison to sectors to facilitate cross sector collaborations and project/program alignment and to ensure effective LCI processes. Also important for this role is the ability to develop and implement a lean, forward-thinking operating model by both challenging current internal processes and developing efficient new processes.
BA/BS degree required
10 + years relevant experience required
6+ years in Pharmaceutical is required
Program and project management experiences that have impacted business results is required
Demonstrated success at developing highly collaborative and effective relationships in complex, highly matrixed organization is required
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead the execution of strategy and business transformation efforts is required
Leadership of Pharmaceutical program management, project management and operations efforts. Strong pharmaceutical R&D experience is required
Experience in R&D process requirements to successfully drive operational productivity, strategy optimization, process improvements and efficiencies is required
Ability to translate data into information and action plans is required
Organization, talent and capability development is required
Late late / early stage pharm R&D is required
