Provides quality control and technical expertise for reports written by Environmental Site Assessors. Coordinates technical staff activities and client accounts to achieve the company's strategic business objectives. Key project delivery focus areas include scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk management. May conduct site visits to identify environmental conditions for projects and properties. Provides consultation to reviewers with REC analysis for potential Phase II investigations. Communicates with clients, providing recommendations and professional guidance regarding recommendations for Phase II investigations. Design SOWs which may include, but are not limited to, any or all of the following: indoor air, soil vapor, soil and/or groundwater sampling, number of samples, method of analysis and constituents of concern to be sampled. Send requests for proposals to vendors for Phase II investigations. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for the completion of Phase II subsurface investigations. Complete Phase II report and delivery to client. Address any comments or questions from clients and colleagues regarding Phase II reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses technical knowledge and experience to review/audit reports completed by Assessors to ensure company and client protocols are met and content accurately describes the asset, prior to finalization and delivery to clients.
Interacts regularly with client(s) to ensure that goals and objectives are established and achieved. Develops and implements action plans to correct variances. Anticipates and responds to the client's needs and concerns.
Documents and prepares bids and proposals in response to RFPs, and engages in any follow-up, as needed.
Manages large portfolios of projects from start to finish including bidding, managing costing, set up of work orders, ensuring assignment of field staff, meeting project deadlines, reviewing reports and delivering final product to client.
Collaborates on staffing of projects and resource needs. May coordinate contractors, if applicable.
Provides technical direction and guidance to staff assigned to projects. May act as subject matter expert in area of expertise.
Assembles and delivers accurate, timely, and complete reports and invoices to the client.
Performs other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values. Provides technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in related field such as environmental science, geology, engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires 8-10 years relevant environmental experience.
Knowledgeable of federal, state and local environmental requirements.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES
Current Professional Engineer’s or Professional Geologist’s license or registration, CIH, CEM or one or more of the following state certifications ACM, Lead, Mold, Radon, preferred.
Based on locations and local regulations, this role may require specific licenses or certification issued by the federal government, state, tribe, to perform environmental inquiries as defined in §312.21
Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret business related documents and offer strong business solutions to clients. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, consultative and exceptional customer service skills and the ability to problem solve. Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management.
Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical clients.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the sensitive issues.
Excellent time management and organizational skills. The position requires simultaneously managing electronic deliverables for several ongoing assignments.
Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and client groups to take desired action.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for adjusting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
