EVENTS PROGRAM LEAD, Solve, to conceptualize and oversee the planning and execution of Solve’s main year-round events which convene hundreds of social impact leaders. This includes the Solve Challenge Finals (pitch event), Solve at MIT (major convening on MIT campus), Indigenous Communities Summit (with and for indigenous peoples in the U.S.), and Solv[ED] Solutions (targeting people 24 years and under). May also oversee other events. Will determine overall event strategy and vision and oversee content, operations, technology, and production. Responsibilities include leading the conceptualization, design, and delivery of events while adhering to predetermined budgets; leading a team of up to three full-time staff; overseeing all aspects of events, e.g., invitations and registration, production, catering, travel, venues, and operations; overseeing vendors and negotiating contracts; mentoring and managing staff; ensuring community and stakeholder engagement; ensuring diverse, high-quality event speakers and overseeing communications with them; overseeing use of event software; and a variety of other duties.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ project management experience and at least four in event management/production; self-motivation; ability to deliver complex, high-quality events--preferably with a focus on social and environmental impact--in-person, hybrid, and virtually; proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously; excellent communication and problem-solving skills; a solution-oriented work style and ability to identify and solve problems before they become issues; experience with a variety of digital media and post-production workflows for live and virtual events; and willingness to contribute however possible to ensure the overall effectiveness of the team.
