Robert Half Financial Analyst in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the education industry for a Financial Analyst based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The selected candidate will be an integral part of our team, responsible for overseeing financial activities, developing financial strategies, administering sponsored program activities, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial operations of the center, including account structuring and invoicing procedures

• Participate in the formulation of short and long-term financial strategies with the center leadership

• Administer pre- and post-award sponsored program activities, interact with Center PIs to develop and submit proposal budgets

• Monitor the financial performance of active grants and contracts, providing forecasts and updates to PIs routinely

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budget forecasts, and financial analyses for the center’s operational and departmental accounts

• Perform fiscal year-end closing processes and conduct fiscal year-end close out activities for the center

• Oversee pro-card and travel card issuance and verifications and the center’s monthly Financial Review and Control (FRC) process

• Serve as the main point of contact for the center’s Budget Officer in VPF

• Responsible for responding to and providing documentation for internal and external audits and implementing any audit-related management plans

• Utilize data mining techniques to ensure accurate salary distribution for the center faculty, staff, lecturers, and researchers

• Employ advanced accounting functions and accrual accounting principles to develop annual and long-term budgets that meet the center’s strategic and operational objectives

• Utilize auditing skills to monitor all revenue-based activities and ensure proper use of funds

• Apply knowledge of budget processes and capital management in overseeing the center’s financial operations. Requirements • Proficiency in Data Mining Techniques is required to analyze and interpret complex financial data.

• Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Functions to oversee and improve financial procedures.

• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting is necessary to accurately report the company's financial status.

• Experience in Auditing is essential for performing internal checks and ensuring financial compliance.

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required to assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets.

• Skills in Capital Management are needed to optimize the company's financial operations and strategies.
