FINANCIAL ASSISTANT II, Dean for Student Life (DSL)-Administration-Finance and Accounting, to report to the assistant director of finance and provide diverse financial support to the DSL accounting team. Will process and monitor supplier transactions, procurement, reimbursements, and internal provider billings; work closely and collaboratively with DSL and other MIT staff and vendors; develop an understanding of MIT’s complex budgets, fiscal policies, and financial processes in order to respond to inquiries; and proactively provide feedback and suggestions for improvements. It is expected that duties will be performed with accuracy and in a timely manner; transactions will be completed in accordance with MIT and DSL policies and procedures; and that supervisors will be informed of any issues that may hold back the completion of work.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of work experience in accounting or finance; ability to communicate effectively both verbal and in writing; excellent analytical skills; proficiency in accounting and with the use of software such as SAP, COUPA, and Microsoft Office. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or business; and MIT work experience. Job #24371-5 Hourly rate: $25.75 - 32.00, depending on relevant experience and educationThe Finance and Accounting team maintains a hybrid (mostly remote) working arrangement, with that status to be reviewed periodically.
