  • Prior experience in housing management, preferably in an educational institution.

  • Experience or familiarity with athletic facility management practices.

  • Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of housing laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

Additional Information:This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.

Department:Campus Planning and FacilitiesPre-Employment Screening:Credit, Criminal, IdentitySchedule:35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 4:00 pmJob Function:Facilities Position Description:Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and technically adept Graduate Housing & Residential Operations Manager to oversee housing operations, leveraging a strong proficiency in the StarRez housing application. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, technical expertise, and collaboration with various university departments to ensure efficient housing management while meeting the evolving needs of our student community.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a technically savvy individual to drive innovation and efficiency in housing operations and athletic facility management, while contributing to an exceptional student living experience within our university community.

Reporting Structure: The Graduate Housing Director will report to the Associate Director of Auxiliary Services within the Campus Planning and Facilities department while closely collaborating with Student Affairs, Residence Life Management, and other relevant departments.

Responsibilities:

  • StarRez Administration:

  • Serve as the primary expert and administrator of the StarRez housing application.

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize the system to support housing operations and student services.

  • Develop training programs and resources for staff on utilizing StarRez effectively.

  • Housing Operations Oversight:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of residential facilities, ensuring a seamless housing experience for students.

  • Implement best practices for occupancy management, room assignments, and maintenance requests within StarRez.

  • Collaborate with IT to troubleshoot technical issues related to housing systems.

  • Athletic Facility Management:

  • Oversee the management and operations of the Vanderbilt Hall athletic facility, ensuring its optimal use and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to coordinate facility schedules, equipment upkeep, and user experience enhancement.

  • Provide oversight and management of the relationship with the Optum vendor, ensuring service level agreements are met.

  • Coordinate with Optum to optimize services, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements where needed.

  • Liaison and Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between student affairs, residence life management, athletic facility users, Optum vendor representatives, and campus planning and facilities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align housing and athletic facility strategies with broader institutional goals.

  • Foster strong relationships with university departments to streamline processes and address student needs.

  • Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce housing policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned with university standards and regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing laws and regulations.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize StarRez and other tools to analyze housing data, trends, and occupancy rates.

  • Generate comprehensive reports to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
