    Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE 2, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE), to provide responsive, transparent support to the HR team of a large interdisciplinary laboratory. Responsibilities include preparing academic and non-academic appointment and change transactions; coordinating the submission of hire paperwork; coordinating and preparing visa paperwork and documentation, tracking expirations, and running reports; contributing to the design, creation, and analysis of HR reports; collecting and tracking performance and salary review materials for academic appointments; preparing letters, memos, and other correspondence; resolving and following up on payroll/pay issues; reviewing and processing HR forms; advising/assisting faculty and staff on routine to mildly complex human resources matters; acting as a liaison with central HR; responding to and/or triaging inquiries; gathering and providing information in support of compensation assessments or changes for academic appointments; coordinating and confirming that annual forms and/or trainings are completed; ensuring HR-related communications are disseminated; assisting with developing job descriptions for H-1B visas; recognizing potential employee relations issues and involving appropriate individuals; records and database management; providing onboarding support; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years’ HR experience; working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, the internet, email/calendaring, and reporting and database software; strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills; discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment with confidential issues; flexibility; and meticulous attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, build relationships, both internally and externally, see issues from a variety of vantage points, and prioritize and complete multiple tasks/assignments in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
