Location/Division Specific Information

Unity Lab Services is a business segment that supports the Customer Channels Group, which provides critical outsourced on-site services at customer locations.

This position is in Cambridge, MA

Requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination.

What will you do?

Responsibilities:

  • Work within Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), to providing updates to equipment work order records and activities

  • Coordinate scheduling of equipment installs/removals with internal and external vendors

  • Perform vendor escorting for work site activities

  • Support the procurement of materials for equipment management such as lab consumables

  • Generate client requested reports as requested, including open work orders, work order status, and pending service requests

  • Extensive Customer Service including timely response to all service status requests

  • Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within functional area

  • Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisor/Sr. Manager regarding daily duties

  • Independently makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements

  • Demonstrates proficiency at gathering, presenting and explaining job or site specific performance metrics

  • Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team

  • Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times

  • Works successfully with a diverse cross-functional team

  • Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) thinking to assignments continuously driving improvement

  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

  • Achieve other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have sound problem solving skills and good verbal/ written communication skills! Experience writing technical reports is desired. Manage and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision. Must be capable of using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have independent decision making capability and ability to think conceptually and understand impact of decisions. Expected be hard working and productive in an autonomous environment. Very good conflict resolution skills. Good organization skills resulting in the ability to be self-directed and lead multiple projects. Emerging leadership and mentoring skills. Expected to have supportive interactions with individuals with diverse views or backgrounds. Have flexibility to work various shifts times if needed to complete work content.

Working Conditions:

  • Works primarily in an office/laboratory environment

  • May pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)

  • Personal protective equipment may be worn, including lab coats and safety glasses
