Requisition Number: CHAP-2126

The Oral Health Division of the Cambridge Public Health Department is seeking a Limited-License Dentist to join our Cambridge Healthy Smiles Program team of dental hygienists and help raise community and school awareness about the importance of oral health to overall health.

The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) is a City of Cambridge department administered by the Cambridge Health Alliance, a regional healthcare delivery system. CPHD protects and promotes the health of everyone in Cambridge, particularly those most vulnerable, through services, information, policies, and regulations.

The Limited-License Dentist position is for 30 Tuesday screening days for 6 hours a day during the Cambridge Public School Year.

Our Tuesday screening work is during school hours and follows the Cambridge Public School calendar. The Limited License Dentist will work with the Community Health Dental Hygienists to provide oral health screenings, record students and screening results in a database, and coordinate evaluation efforts. In addition, the LLD will be consulted during the screenings to provide an oral health diagnosis and recommended referral for students with urgent or atypical dental issues. The LLD will also guide children about oral health care as the program needs.

Qualified candidates will be licensed in Massachusetts as a Limited Licensed Dentist and have CPR certificate, as well as experience and excitement for treating students with dental needs and teaching school-aged children oral health instruction; experience in public health or community setting is strongly preferred.

Candidates who are fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole are highly encouraged to apply.
