SUMMARY:

Generation Bio seeks an energetic, versatile, and detail-oriented project manager to support activities for our drug development portfolio. This role will take on a variety of project management activities across the organization with a focus on key CMC projects. It is expected that this role will engage with all functional areas beyond CMC, such as Quality, Regulatory, Pre-clinical, Clinical and R&D.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide effective alliance management for CMC activities including internal projects and external contract manufacturing organizations.

  • Establish communication and planning systems to ensure our partners are supplied with information to deliver against project goals and objectives. Also provides updates on progress, achievements and risks associated with projects for both internal and external use.

  • Act as point person for external CMO relationships.

  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

  • Track and manage project milestones, key dependencies, risks and deliverables.

  • Support internal project team meetings: take meeting notes, identify action items and track completion, provide input on agenda planning.

  • Manage changes in timelines, deliverables and budget as needed

  • Facilitate sub-team discussions to enable decision making and execution of strategy

  • Work with internal project leads and external vendor contacts to ensure business needs, deliverables and expectations are being met.

  • Assist with developing and optimizing project management tools and processes across the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field; advanced degree a plus

  • 5+ years of experience in life science industry with 1+ years in a CMC role and2+ years in project management/coordination

  • Experience working with contract research and contract manufacturing organizations a plus

  • Prior experience in the gene therapy field or rare disease therapeutic development is a plus

  • Experience working in a dynamic high growth biotech company preferred

  • Highly detail oriented

  • A collaborative team player who fosters open communication and facilitates mutual understanding and cooperation between all stakeholders

  • Understanding of financial management, including invoice management, accruals, etc.

  • Demonstrate ability to influence without direct authority, work with a sense of urgency and proactive thinking

  • Proficiency with program/project management tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, OnePager, Smartsheets, and SharePoint.

    Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
