Position Description

A postdoctoral position is available in Prof. Gage Hills’ Nano-Design Group at Harvard University. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in designing and testing high-speed transceiver circuits, with applications including high-performance electronic-photonic integrated circuits. For the post-doc position, the primary concentration would be on the electrical circuit design side, with expertise including:

  • CMOS GHz analog front end for high-speed transceivers building blocks (data converters, power amplifiers, etc.)

  • On-chip high-accuracy controllable oscillators for modulation and digital logic (VCOs, PLLs, etc.)

  • On-chip wireless communication systems (THz antennas, LNAs, mixers, etc.)

    Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field is required by the start date.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with integrated optics and photonics, electro-optical modulators (MZIs, MRRs, etc.)

  • Experience with electronic design automation tools for high-frequency electromagnetic simulations

  • Background in mathematics, statistics, noise analysis

  • Willingness to expand technical skillset into new areas

  • Strong interpersonal and mentorship skills and ability, passion for mentoring PhD students and undergraduate researchers

  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills
