    Job Description

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI), Chemistry, to assist in evaluating, developing, implementing, and iterating on new programs advancing DEI. Will compile regular updates from action groups tasked to DEI-related projects, manage logistics and schedule diverse and complex appointments/meetings/seminars/events/conferences, track key metrics, oversee web pages, present trainings and talks, and handle a variety of finance/administration duties. Responsibilities include collaborating on developing goals and strategies and facilitating efforts to design and implement DEI policies/programs/procedures; conducting research and designing and implementing DEI programming/initiatives, drafting reports, and presenting results; creating and implementing a DEI strategic plan; developing data management systems; budget development; and serving as a resource for the Chemistry community.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in related field; five years’ administrative/project management experience in a university setting working with faculty/students/ postdocs/administration; excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills; flexibility; discretion and judgment with confidential issues/information; interest in principles of DEI; excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; and experience with database software. Must be able to build productive relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds/experiences (i.e., communities of color; LGBTQ+ individuals; various faiths/non-faith, abilities, and ethnic backgrounds; and other diverse populations); manage and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for multiple overlapping projects; seek out and participate in learning opportunities, apply to work, and help others grow professionally; address underlying causes of problems/patterns, recognize barriers, and solve or escalate appropriately; take ownership and hold oneself accountable; collect and analyze data and make data-driven decisions; and effectively communicate, teach, and build relationships with those unfamiliar with DEI issues.
