  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., fundamental research) strongly preferred. Ideal candidate will possess direct research experience and strong writing skills, particularly in the areas of basic and medical sciences research in a manner accessible to a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Instructional design skills for educating a wide variety of learners preferred.

  • Communications and marketing skills and experience preferred.

  • Extensive experience handling highly confidential and sensitive material.

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills essential.

  • The successful candidate must be self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work in a complex matrix environment at multiple levels of the University.

  • Experience with human and/or animal subjects research regulations a plus.

Department:Academic and Research IntegrityPre-Employment Screening:Criminal, Education, IdentityJob Function:General Administration Position Description:The Program Manager of the Research Rigor, Reproducibility and Responsibility (R3) Faculty Hub (R3 Program Manager) will report to the Dean for Faculty and Research Integrity and act at the direction, and on behalf of, the Harvard Medical School (HMS) Standing Committee on Faculty Conduct (FCC) to implement a comprehensive and

cohesive program that defines, facilitates, and promotes high standards for responsible, reproducible and rigorous research across an HMS community comprised over nearly 25,000 faculty and trainees. The R3 Program Manager will coordinate and provide administrative and project management support to new and existing faculty-led efforts to develop education and training, tools and resources, academic incentives and rewards, and deidentified case analyses and reports that promote, enable and optimize R3 practices in science. The R3 Program Manager will also support the development and implementation of a variety of outreach and communications efforts--including the continued development of a coordinated public-facing website-- that showcases, publicize, and curate R3 programming, promote the value of R3 to the HMS community, and engages its faculty and trainees. Additional proactive outreach and awareness campaigns through a variety of social media platforms, newsletters, white papers, reports and point of contact communications, both through HMS and in collaboration with its affiliated hospitals, will also be facilitated and supported by the Program Manager. Initially, a portion of this position’s time will be dedicated to supporting the Dean for Faculty and Research Integrity in overseeing the assessments, inquiries and investigations of complex allegations of research misconduct against HMS faculty appointees. In this portion of the role, the incumbent will help support to the HMS Standing Committee on Faculty Conduct and ad hoc faculty panels, including drafting reports and collaborating with affiliated institutions to fulfill requests of the faculty review panels. He/she will partner with the Director for Research Integrity and the members of the Research Integrity team assigned to particular cases in bringing cases to completion. The R3 Program Manager will work closely with staff across the Office for Academic and Research Integrity (ARI), including, but not limited to, the Research Integrity team, and will also collaborate and coordinate with other relevant offices in implementation of R3 programming as a synergistic effort, such as the Office for Graduation Education, Office for Postdoctoral Affairs, Office for Faculty Affairs, Office for Diversity, Inclusion and Community Partnership, Office for Clinical and Academic Affairs and the Office for Research Initiatives and Global Programs, the HMS Center for Bioethics.
