    Job Description

WORK-LIFE PROGRAM REPRESENTATIVE, Human Resources, to collaborate with members of and act as the primary administrative contact for the Work-Life (https://hr.mit.edu/worklife) team which supports MIT faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive understanding of issues impacting employee work-life and wellbeing and responding to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries and connecting employees with appropriate benefits, programs, and services offered by the Institute; handling all logistics for Work-Life’s webinars/workshops, e.g., coordinating with presenters, communicating with attendees, scheduling and hosting events via digital platforms, and congregating event utilization and satisfaction data; assisting with researching and vetting new speakers in targeted topic areas; processing confidential Staff Emergency Hardship Fund (https://hr.mit.edu/worklife/hardship-fund) applications; supporting and maintaining campus lactation rooms; performing administrative tasks related to Work-Life’s Mental Health First Aid training program (https://hr.mit.edu/worklife/mental-health/first-aid) , including monitoring/updating attendance lists, communicating course details, and ensuring participants have access to the learning management system utilized for the course; representing Work-Life at resource fairs and presentations across MIT; assisting with managing daily operations, e.g., scheduling appointments/meetings, account monitoring and reconciliation, preparing and processing purchasing/accounting forms, and providing administrative support for programs/projects; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ administrative, customer relations, and event planning experience; strong organizational, time management, customer service, and interpersonal skills; ease with telephone, email, and in-person communication; self-motivation; attention to detail; ability to work independently and prioritize and triage multiple tasks simultaneously; interest in wellbeing and serving the personal needs of a diverse community; and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Eventbrite, Zoom, and Qualtrics. PREFERRED: experience with human service programs and international populations. Job #24160-56/20/24
