Additional Qualifications and Skills: The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred:

  • Master's Degree preferred, in a health or social science discipline is a plus

  • Demonstrated knowledge of health services research

  • Experience working with health care-related topics such as health policy or health services research or coursework

  • Experience in quantitative research methods and analysis

  • Strong background in writing for a wide-range of audiences

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

  • Exposure to applicable computer technologies, including specific Microsoft software applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Experience with EndNote, Mendeley and/or other reference managers

  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills, Organized, Attention to Detail

Department:Health Policy and ManagementPre-Employment Screening:Education, IdentityJob Function:General Administration Position Description: The Project Manager will independently perform a wide range of project management, operational, and administrative duties to support these faculty-led research projects -- including 5-10 projects simultaneously, some of which are new and others that are established. Such duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee research project operations -- including managing grant requirements, developing timelines and ensuring that each project meets milestones, preparing and submitting human subjects research protocols and progress reports, drafting issue briefs, managing data use agreements, and preparing and delivering presentations for academic, clinical, and grantor audiences.

  • Track progress of each project, including coordinating collaborative research and writing efforts with partners and co-workers.

  • Develop mechanisms to support faculty and staff, including coordinating logistics, timetables for implementation of research and activities, and appropriate review and reporting.

  • Compile and organize results for annual progress reports to funders and in the preparation of presentations and final publications.

  • Work closely with the PI's as well as other project team members to ensure that research aims are fulfilled in a timely fashion and budget is managed appropriately.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with affiliated research personnel at other locations and institutions.

  • Participate and contribute to internal team meetings and facilitate new and existing partnerships with external partners.

  • Lead a team of research assistants (including those that perform statistical analysis) and ensure they are performing high-quality work.

    The Project Manager will also perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and project coordination skills, experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, and experience performing highly-detailed work with attention and care while obtaining and providing information on numerous inquiries.

A) Comparing Medicare Advantage and Traditional Fee-for-Service Medicare

B) Variations in the Quality of Cost of Care for Dual-Eligible Medicare and Medicaid Beneficaries

C) The Impact of Federal and State Policy on Health Outcomes

D) Developing Novel Methods for Understanding the Impact of Managed Care on Healthcare Delivery
