Job Title: Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Location: 46 Blackstone Street Cambridge MA 02139

Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Monday – Friday

About the Role:

• Join our Facilities Maintenance Operations (FMO) team in Campus Services as a Facilities Maintenance Operations Supervisor. This role involves supervising custodial services, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction. If you’re a proactive leader with strong organizational and communication skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee custodial operations to meet customer-determined cleanliness and sanitary standards.

• Develop and adjust cleaning schedules to ensure optimal service.

• Train custodial staff on cleaning techniques, equipment use, and environmental health and safety protocols.

• Implement and supervise Green Cleaning procedures.

• Conduct routine quality inspections and implement corrective actions.

• Manage staff performance, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

• Coordinate special requests like event setups, snow removal, and emergency responses.

• Maintain records for attendance, payroll, schedules, and inventory.

• Enforce workplace safety, environmental regulations, and customer-established procedures.

• Lead or support special projects and initiatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a customer-focused custodial operation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-based applications.

• Strong knowledge of custodial procedures and cleaning systems.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

• Ability to enforce policies and procedures effectively.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods.

• Access non-handicap accessible areas, confined spaces, and construction sites.

• Wear personal protective equipment as necessary.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without restrictions.

• This position involves walking between campus buildings, managing emergency responses outside normal hours, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.
