  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions. Ability to prioritize tasks and set deadlines.

  • Functions with speed, precision and an understanding of theory behind procedures.

Additional Information:This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.

This project utilizes mouse genetics, behavior, histological, and electrophysiological approaches to understand tactile sensitivity as displayed in various genetic mouse models of ASDs, and how we might develop potential therapeutics for the treatment of ASD symptoms. This is a collaborative position with Lauren Orefice’s laboratory at Mass General Hospital, and the Research Assistant should expect to split their time between the two sites.

This individual will work under the supervision of a group to help 1) maintain a mouse colony (mouse husbandry, including genotyping), 2) conduct an array of behavior experiments, 3) perform mouse dissections to collect tissue for subsequent immunohistochemical experiments, and 4) acquire images and assist in analyses.
