Job Function:General Administration, ResearchJob-Specific Responsibilities:
The Department of Global Health and Social Medicine (GHSM) at Harvard Medical School conducts research to constantly improve the practice of medicine, the delivery of treatment, and the development of health care policies locally and worldwide. Researchers at GHSM have a long history of conducting research on tuberculosis, focusing on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant TB. The Department is seeking a strong applicant for the position of Project Coordinator to assist in the management of several research projects primarily taking place in Peru. The ideal candidate must have experience in study management, preferably in low-and middle-income countries.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Research Management
Database development and management- Works with database managers at both sites to ensure development of databases, data dictionaries, data queries, and enrollment and retention reports.
Follows established protocols for the collection, labeling, processing, storage, and tracking of shipment of specimens to different sites.
Collaborates with supervisor on annual progress reports to funder, budget development, and budget tracking.
Responsible for management of IRB protocol and study document amendments, submissions, and continuing reports in conjunction with local teams. Monitors study activities to ensure compliance with protocols.
- Schedules and coordinates site visits for the PI and Boston staff. Assists with planning of meetings and events and takes minutes during meetings. Coordinates directly with other teams and troubleshoots without supervision, ensures any changes are being implemented across teams, coordinates with vendors and collaborators, and all members of the team to ensure project is advancing, enrollment target is being met, and project is staying within budget.

- Develops educational materials, understands study procedures, and provides training to study team as needed
