RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE 1, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), to support researchers in Jonathan Ragan-Kelley’s group experimenting with compiler technology to compile high-level computer graphics programs into high-performance code. Will work closely with researchers in the group, help with implementing compilers, collect data and statistics of programs, and compare results with existing solutions. Responsibilities include implementing computer graphics programs in general-purpose programming languages to serve as a baseline for comparison; codeveloping and implementing missing functionalities in prototype compilers; implementing computer graphics programs using new programming languages; writing documentation for compilers and software developed by the group; and collecting performance statistics by running the aforementioned programs with different inputs and experimenting with different parameters. Will work closely with and be supervised by Jonathan Ragan-Kelley and the researchers in the group.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent, basic experience with programming languages, willingness to collaborate, and self-motivation. PREFERRED: a bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or related field; knowledge of 3-D computer graphics and numerical simulation; and experience with compiler development.
