The Oncology Data Science group at Novartis Institute for BioMedical Research is seeking a scientific software product manager/business analyst to help our engineering team focus on building the most impactful solutions for our data scientists. Work closely with our data scientists to crystallize requirements and shape product direction and collaborate closely with engineers to translate these requirements into an actionable project plan. The portfolio of software tools includes upstream data processing and harmonization pipelines, data registration systems, and downstream visualization applications used by both data and bench scientists. Your Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To: • Collaborate with data scientists to refine problem statements, clarify the business value of proposals, and create vision for project • Act as bridge between stakeholders and developers • Solicit business requirements and feature development requests for projects, and help prioritize these within the context of the larger engineering portfolio • Translate requirements into actionable, concrete tasks and develop overall project roadmaps • Manage product backlogs and participate in Scrum planning meetings and retrospectives, identify inter-project dependencies and coordinate across projects • Facilitate trainings and evangelize products \n\n\n\n Position Title: Scientific Product Manager, Oncology Minimum requirements: What You Will Bring To The Role: • BA or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Biology or related field required • Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience, 3+ years of experience with Master's • Strong domain expertise in molecular biology or genetics; formal education in bioinformatics and computer science • Knowledge of biomarker data space and prior exposure to wet lab • Understanding of Agile, Scrum and SDLC best practices • Previous experience managing software products and projects • Previous experience in scientific product management • Ability to influence without direct authority and build consensus among project teams • Experience with R, Python, visualization libraries and tools • Experience using JIRA and Bitbucket WHY CONSIDER NOVARTIS? 799 million.
