Additional Information:This is a hybrid position which we consider to be a combination of remote and onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus. HBS expects all staff to be onsite 3 days per week and departments provide onsite coverage Monday – Friday. Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.

Position Description:This role is responsible for comprehensive human resources services for select HBS departments. Working closely with colleagues on a collaborative HR team, provides expertise, coaching and services to clients to support a culture of staff productivity and engagement.

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), this role serves as an HR Generalist to several key internal clients. Specific duties include:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource on the full range of HR functions: talent acquisition, org design, employee and labor relations, compensation, and special projects.

  • Coach and serve as a partner to department leaders and managers on talent management including performance management, employee relations, retention, career development and compensation.

  • Support managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements to support their strategy.

  • Advise, interpret, communicate, and participate in the development of HR policies, practices, and processes.

  • Develop expertise in and interpret the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers (HUCTW) guidelines and policies.

  • Consult with University labor relations, department leaders, managers, and employees on employee relations and labor issues.

  • Partner with the HBS Learning and Development Team on various initiatives related to employee engagement, onboarding, learning, development, and mobility.

  • Collaborate with and serve on committees at the local and University level.

  • Ensure compliance with University Human Resources policies, procedures, and requirements and applicable legal regulations

  • Collaborate with department leaders and managers to actively diagnose, develop, and lead organizational development strategies and drive them to results.

  • Maintain current knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends.

  • Participate in our collaborative team environment through meetings and joint projects.

  • Be responsible for other duties as assigned.
