Spero?s lead product candidate, Tebipenem HBr, is an oral carbapenem currently being evaluated in a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections. Spero is also advancing SPR720, its oral antimicrobial agent in development for the treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) pulmonary disease, a rare orphan disease. Spero?s third product candidate, SPR206, is an IV-administered agent being developed as an innovative option to treat MDR Gram-negative bacterial infections.

General Scope and Summary of Role
Spero Therapeutics is looking for a collaborative, enthusiastic operations leader responsible for the successful build of Market Access operations for services, marketing and contracting within launch timelines.
What You?ll Do
Ensure launch readiness for service operations, pricing and contracting systems, including SOPs, Process for decision-making and ongoing management
Establish market Access team training and customer materials: Field National Accounts, service staff, etc.
Design an optimal customer experience with non-clinical product access
Strategic support for market access launch decisions around pricing, channel strategy, payer engagement and reimbursement
Gain insights and alignment from commercial leadership through the stages of build, execution, and refinement for all programs
The individual will need to work cross-functionally, specifically with relevant Franchise Heads and other functions (Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Medical, Finance, Corporate Development, Legal etc.) to optimize the customer experience and maximize product access delivery to patients.
Design a program mix to deliver an optimal customer experience to patients and providers and aligned with launch goals Hire, train and retain a day to day service operations staff member. Select, contract with and manage all operations vendors, may include HUB service vendors, online services and/or pharmacy services.
Build a team and program mix within launch timelines
Establish and manage data exchange with partners in collaboration with commercial analytics
Operations and budget oversight - ensure contract management and KPIs met for service and data customers/providers
Ensure staffing and execution of payer and health system customer education and engagement
Capture evidence for market access decisions related to the payer value story, pricing and distribution
Collaborate with Medical Affairs to meet health plan and health system customer education needs
Lead payer marketing staff responsible for national account team training and customer materials (health plans, health systems, trade partners), Congress attendance and presence
Evaluate departmental needs for support, systems and policies to support market access pricing and contracting. Establish launch plan and execute plan within agreed upon timeframes.
What You?ll Need
Minimum of a bachelors degree; MBA, PharmD, or advanced degree preferred
5+ years of leadership experience in market access, including management of direct reports and departmental budget(s) in a commercial market access function
Demonstrated success in pharmaceutical product launches in market accessKnows what it takes to establish the foundation for launch excellence
Expert in the US market access landscape including reimbursement, channel dynamics, health plan coverage, health care provider needs and patient access
Demonstrated leadership ability and track record of career progression; building high-performing commercial teams; strong talent assessment capability and the ability to attract, retain and effectively coach top industry talent to superior performance. Strong ability to effectively engage and motivate people and lead change
Previous experience successfully developing and leading managed markets/payer initiatives that supported product launches; well versed in pharma/payer contracting terms across various segments; experience with oral drugs, including Medicare Part D
Proven long-term relationships with 3rd party payers (PBMs, commercial / government payers), distribution and trade (3PL, wholesale, specialty pharmacy), physician networks, and healthcare systems
Analyzes key market data to understand how to best optimize the deployment and alignment of the sales force and market access teams with respect to targeting and messaging
High analytical capability with history of effectively leveraging strategic insights, data, market research, and customer insights to optimize price and contracting strategy to support access and revenue goals.
