The Opportunity

Abt Global seeks an experienced professional in Data Analytics and Data Science with a background in use of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) programs, data, and data technology platforms to generate insights to support CMS payment model and related projects.

This role will lead and deliver high quality and complex code and data products using the tool stacks available on CMS’s analytics platforms. They will lead cross-functional teams in querying claims and enrollment data, creating files for analysis, performing risk adjustment and price standardization, performing statistical and other analyses, and developing visualizations and data storytelling for communicating insights.

Core Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of CMS programs, claims data, and data technology platforms to develop and deliver code and data products in support of CMS projects.

  • Deploy and lead processes for quality assurance of code and requirements in analytics delivery including defect tracking and requirements traceability. Understand and apply basic project management principles for technical work. Lead and guide staff in providing support across the data lifecycle including data acquisition, analysis, and visualization, as well as automation.

  • Work collaboratively across a cross-functional team.

  • Apply deep knowledge of CMS programs and data content, especially those associated with payment model innovation and measurement of health outcomes.

What We Value

  • Bachelor’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Ten years of relevant experience, or PhD+ Eight years of relevant experience

  • At least 10 years of proven experience developing code and data products for CMS, using CMS’s data and data technology platforms.

  • Proven experience with relevant tools like SQL, statistical programming languages (SAS and R), Databricks, and others typically used by CMS.

  • Experience in CMS VRDC (CCW) platform

  • Deep knowledge of CMS programs and data content and experience working with large datasets and databases using Medicare/Medicaid data

  • Data Management Professional Certification preferred.

  • Active credentials to work on CMS’s systems strongly preferred.

  • Collaborative focus and strong communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • US work authorization required and ability to gain CMS facility clearance.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $140,000 to $200,000, and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
