    Job Description

SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER, MIT Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Collaboratives (MHASSC), to foster an ecosystem of individual excellence and cross-cutting collaboration in humanities research and provide the substrate for collaborations between HASS and STEM. Will support the faculty lead in implementing the vision of the Collectives, articulating and implementing its strategic goals, methods for achieving them, and running of day-to-day operations. Will collaborate with leadership and faculty from across MIT to represent and administer MHASSC across campus, working regularly with staff from the departments, labs, and centers in which MHASSC efforts are underway; sustain an environment in which faculty and teaching staff collaborators from a variety of disciplines will want to come together to develop and execute joint projects; manage all aspects of the three MHASSC funds and the core to ensure maximum impact of the Collectives, consistent with the direction of the fund co-chairs and recommendations of the steering committee; act as the administrative lead for the program and collaborate on publicizing and administering the annual request for proposals process, committee and faculty coordination and review, managing program finances, and logistics and events.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; five years’ program/project management, administration, or operations experience in a higher education or similar environment; ability to cultivate and maintain productive relationships with a diverse population; excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, project management, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; discretion with confidential information/issues; and proficiency with MS Office. Seek a self-motivated individual who approaches work strategically and is able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results while meeting deadlines.
