Sanofi Group Senior Scientist - Targeted Nanoparticle Analysis in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Position Overview

Sanofi seeks an experienced and highly motivated scientist to support programs in development of targeted nanoparticles for immuno-oncology. The successful candidate will develop analytical methods for the analysis of lipid nanoparticles, nucleic acids (particularly RNA), proteins, and protein conjugates. The scientist will support projects from early development and will have opportunity to work in a cross-functional environment. The candidate must be driven, resourceful, and able to work independently. Excellent organizational skills in management of data, reagents, and equipment are essential. The candidate will participate in regular team meetings and present results, interpret data, and formulate conclusions. Teamwork, collaboration with colleagues across disciplines, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical. The position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop assays to characterize the physical, biological, and chemical properties of complex nanoparticles.

  • Develop assays for identity, potency, and purity of nanoparticle drug products and raw materials, such as small molecules, proteins, polymers, and nucleic acids.

  • Qualify analytical methods and transfer them to internal or external partners.

  • Analyze and interpret data and draw conclusions to help decide next steps.

  • ‏Document all protocols, experimental data and results in electronic notebook following Good Documentation Practices.

  • ‏Present data and conclusions in regular group meeting.

  • Contribute to daily laboratory activities (including procurement and organization).

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field in the Life Sciences plus minimum 2 years of relevant research experience in industry or academia.

  • ‏Experience with HPLC, SEC, IEX, LC-MS and related techniques.

  • Experience developing validating analytical assays in compliance with ICH guidelines.

  • Experience with analytical method transfer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ‏Basic knowledge of fundamental immunology.

  • Experience with nanoparticle characterization (DLS, laser diffraction, TEM, SAX).

  • ‏Preference will be given to candidates with background in the biotech/pharma industry.

  • ‏Experience with nanoparticles, cell therapy, and RNA is preferred.
