WithinOMG, Microsoft Stream is a team of passionate and dedicated engineers who are working to deliver the best-in-class video service. We are building frontend experiences, along with backend and middle tier microservices that enable customers to capture and create, share, discover, and consumevideoacrossthe Microsoft365 platform.

Responsibilities

You will own and contribute to product features in Microsoft Stream, including breaking down work into pieces that can be implemented by yourself and other engineers. You will collaborate with engineers, program managers, designers, and data scientists to drive entire features to completion, while taking on the leadership and example setting for other engineers on the team. You will help lead the partnerships across engineering teams in your group, as well as teams in other divisions of Microsoft. You will ensure that yourself and the engineers on your team are being data-driven in your goals and feature deliveries, while keeping a strong emphasis on what’s best for our customers. Some other responsibilities include:

  • Implement high qualityfeaturesthat need little attention after completion and raise the bar on the code written by others.

  • Have well-thought-out designs thatconsideraccessibility,reliability,performance, and cost.

  • Meaningfully guide other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and leading by example with inclusion for all aspects of collaboration.

  • Resolve conflicting requirements from different sources to arrive at actionable engineering plans

  • Participatein andevolvethe team’sculture.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development

  • 2+ years of experience as a web developer using a modern UI framework such as ReactJS or AngularJS

  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills

  • Highly self-motivated and independent

  • Ability to quickly ramp up, understand complex problems, and create solutions across many products

  • Passion for building reusable web components and maxing out what browsers can do

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with React framework, Typescript, CSS and HTML

  • Experience writing automated tests on any level (unit, integration, E2E and visual regression)

  • Growthmindsetwith a desire to learn, persist through challenges, and willingness to coach junior developers
