The Strategy & Programs team within the Business Excellence Operations organization for Industry Solutions is responsible for efficient and effective Human Capital Management, with an emphasis on our external Services supplier/partner ecosystem. Our goal is to enable our services delivery and sales groups to deliver customer centric outcomes. In alignment with the services stakeholders and geographic leadership, this team plays a crucial role in ensuring the right partner companies are onboarded, managed, and meet our financial and execution excellence expectations. In addition, the Strategy & Programs team does large deal negotiations to achieve the best value for our customers and stakeholders.
As a Partner Specialist, you will execute external staffing strategies developed by the account teams and Account Partner Strategists for priority accounts. You will be responsible for developing partner capacity strategies to enable our delivery teams to staff and deliver a range of projects from small to multimillion-dollar projects, with a direct impact to our customers.
Specific responsibilities include driving partner onboarding and rate negotiations, actively managing the supplier relationship through the end-to-end lifecycle, managing both partner and staffing escalations, securing external talent with the right skills and capabilities (subcontractors and external contractors). You will also contribute to the success of the global team by participating in cross team initiatives.
As part of the Strategy & Programs team , you will work with sales and delivery teams to fulfill customer engagements. You will work across the operations and support teams, including, legal, contracting, compliance, and procurement to protect Microsoft and ensure operational excellence.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Relationship Management: hosting in-person and virtual meetings, management of the supplier ecosystem, tracking supplier satisfaction, and serving as the primary point of contact to delivery teams and suppliers.
Stakeholder Management: developing capacity strategies for delivery teams, providing subject matter expertise, and optimizing supplier discoverability.
Escalation Management: managing and solving level 2 supplier and stakeholder expectations; ensure escalations are managed properly by the Vendor Management & Strategy team.
Supplier Onboarding: overseeing local supplier onboarding, hosting pre-onboarding meetings for new suppliers, facilitating contract negotiations, negotiating and approving supplier rate cards.
Partner Capability Management: understanding the capabilities, strengths, and skills of Partners required to successfully staff engagements.
Ideal candidates should have 5 to 7 years of Supplier Management / Procurement / Delivery or Operations experience and should be self-motivated, confident in working with Senior Leaders and comfortable working in a matrix, global organization. Candidate needs to be able to achieve results through influence across multiple organizations.
Bachelor’s in business management, information technology, or related field, and/or equivalent experience
Proven stakeholder management skills, especially in a global, matrix organization
A strong business aptitude coupled with an affinity or appreciation for technology and the advancement of technology in thriving organizations
Extensive experience in resource or vendor management, or delivery management role for an enterprise scale business
Experience dealing with a range of internal stakeholders, from senior-level to technical staff.
Knowledge of professional services concepts such as utilization, billable resource, and resource management tools (desirable)
Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple work streams of activities
Knowledge and understanding of the financial and operational functions of a delivery organization (i.e., budget, time keeping, optimizing cost, escalation processes, invoicing, capacity management)
Experience evaluating work breakdown structures, cost estimations and resource loading
An analytical mindset with the ability to define metrics, reports, interpret results, and make recommendations on appropriate courses of action
Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, time management, presentation, and writing skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented with a strong growth mindset and emotional intelligence.
