Vericel Corporation, a leader in advanced therapies for the sports medicine and severe burn care markets, has an exciting opportunity for a top performing Medical Affairs professional looking to join and contribute to a commercial stage company with an established portfolio of unique advanced cell therapies and specialty biologics. POSITION SUMMARY The Burn Care Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for providing non-promotional scientific, educational, and research support for the Vericel Burn Care portfolio. DUTIES The MSL will develop and maintain relationships with burn surgeons, nurses, other healthcare providers, and burn key opinion leaders (KOLs) for the Vericel Burn Care Franchise. Provide accurate and updated clinical, scientific and medical information to burn surgeons, nurses, and other health care professionals, members of the scientific community, and the provider and payer community, in compliance with all relevant company policies. Adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines, and company policies, in all aspects of scientific dissemination of information. Identify, maintain, and establish collaborative relationships with key Burn experts, investigators and institutions that are strategic to product development. Enhance clinical/scientific knowledge of burn care providers through appropriate scientific exchange, research collaborations, publications, podium presentations and abstracts. Participate in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations with customer visits, investigator meetings, advisory boards, medical meetings, and other appropriate venues to enhance product and disease state knowledge. Coordinate and optimize educational and research support for sites/investigators participating in Vericel clinical trials and post-market studies such as investigator-sponsored studies (ISS) research grants. Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information associated with supported products and disease state areas. Provides effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences and tailors presentations to meet specific needs of the audience (appropriate response to unsolicited requests). Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, and strategies for investigational and commercialized products. Facilitate the identification of KOL educational needs around burn care. Maintain clinical knowledge of the burn care and wound management treatment landscape, including current treatment strategies, current and pending competitors, and new therapeutic developments through comprehensive education including attendance at relevant symposium, scientific workshops, and review of key journals. Support educational training of Vericel Burn Care Franchise commercial colleagues. Participate in required internal training, presentations, and journal clubs. Maintain appropriate communication with Clinical, Regulatory, and Legal personnel within the company to ensure appropriate timelines and procedures are met. Basic Qualifications: MS, Physical Therapy degree, RN/BSN, MD, PhD or PharmD. Experience in burns and with burn-care related or wound-care related products preferred. 2-5+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or a related field. Must live within 30 miles of a major airport.
