The Microsoft Teams/O365/Collaboration Engineer is responsible for the configuration, deployment, management and operations of the Microsoft Teams, O365, Lync/Skype and SharePoint collaboration and communication enterprise environments. The successful candidate will be able to plan, deploy and support Teams chat, apps, channels, meetings, sites as well as a legacy Skype for Business and Lync server infrastructure. The ideal candidate should be experienced in implementing and managing O365 and on-prem messaging and collaboration environments, and has a thorough knowledge of server, virtualization, messaging, directory, security and mobility technologies, on-premises, cloud-based and hybrid implementations. The position requires an individual who has demonstrated technical leadership in a 500+ user environment.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the Teams, Lync/Skype for Business and SharePoint on-prem server infrastructure.

  • Recommend and plan for future growth of messaging and collaboration systems taking into consideration capacity planning, monitoring, Disaster Recovery and business continuity.

  • Life-cycle management of Active Directory, Azure AD users with Microsoft Identity Manager.

  • Maintain systems security and integrity, taking corrective actions as necessary in compliance with company and industry standards and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation and architectural diagrams for use in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and support of the infrastructure.

  • Provide proactive and reactive maintenance and support for the Teams and SharePoint infrastructure.

  • Analyze and articulate the risks, benefits and opportunities associated with any change within the infrastructure.

  • Provide assistance as a secondary resource to other specialists within the Infrastructure team.

  • Assist in hybrid cloud planning, design and implementation.

  • Participate in on-call rotation which may include nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent experience required.

  • 5+ years of messaging/collaboration/Teams/O365/Azure cloud experience

  • Microsoft GCC-High cloud experience preferred

  • Technical understanding of Exchange, mail flow, email hygiene (AV/AS), SMTP, TLS, Outlook and troubleshooting email flow issues

  • Solid knowledge of Teams, Office 365, Azure AD and their interaction with on-prem Active Directory

  • Experience with implementing governance and life cycle management for Microsoft Teams

  • Experience with Microsoft Lync and Mobile Device Management solutions such as AirWatch or InTune

  • Proficiency with ADFS/SSO, IIS, DNS, SMTP, LDAP and network load balancers

  • Experience with SSL certificates and encrypted/signed email technologies

  • Excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Ability to define and communicate what needs to be done and successfully drive it to completion

  • Able to recognize, troubleshoot and resolve system problems with a focus on customer service

Other Information

  • United States citizen and ability to obtain a security clearance

  • CompTIA Security+, Network+ or equivalent certification preferred

  • Current Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundations certification a plus
