Sr. Industrial Designer

As a Senior Industrial Designer within the Sleep & Respiratory Care (S&RC) Experience Design team, you have the exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how customers, clinicians, and patients interact with our products and solutions.

Your role:

  • Be part of a dedicated Sleep & Respiratory Care experience design team driving for more impact, improving the lives of sleep and respiratory patients, their caregivers, and our customers by empowering patients, enabling more insightful care, and reducing complexity. You will be working closely with Philips teammates in the US, Europe, and Asia creating connected integrated hard goods, wearables and soft goods.

  • Envision and deliver solutions that align with our business goals while providing safe, intuitive, and delightful user experiences.

  • Conduct and lead analysis of user needs. Create frameworks and interaction concepts across domains. Define role of product within a broader ecosystem. Establish design principles, experience requirements, and guide teams with clarity and accuracy.

  • Work with a cross-functional product development teams, working closely with Marketing to define and verify the experience with customers and patients. Work closely with R&D and developers to ensure the experiences are technically feasible and implemented effectively.

  • Bring key design competencies to the cross-functional team including workflow assessments, design sprint facilitation, concept development, and creation of a consistent brand experience for our customers via use of the Philips Design language.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial/Product Design, ideally with 15+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Your skills include:

  • A strong passion for design and an original portfolio of diverse creative work that demonstrates that passion.

  • A strong understanding of design process and have successfully applied it to multiple projects.

  • An advanced understanding of designing for textiles and for advanced manufacturing processes, specifically 3D knitting.

  • Strong problem solver whose thinking is both creative and strategic.

  • Exceptional 2D and 3D design skills.

  • Ability to comprehend production challenges and work with teams towards manufacturable solutions.

  • You have a strong understanding and ability to communicate the value of design and brand.

  • You have an affection for healthcare and personal health and are comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
