This position is currently classified as “hybrid” in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy. The successful incumbent must be located in proximity to either Bannockburn, IL or Cambridge, MA.

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Support the BioLife Sustainability team in its mission to efficiently transform BioLife to achieve Takeda's environmental ambitions and drive our industry to a sustainable future.

  • Provide strong and detailed analytical support to help identify the optimal path forward for BioLife to efficiently achieve our targets for net-zero emissions and zero waste from our operations.

  • Drive successful completion of sustainability portfolio through strong project management and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.

  • Continue to build a culture of sustainability & innovation across BioLife’s global network of sites.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Program Analytics: Input and leverage data to determine progress against Takeda’s environmental commitments and proactively identify risks and opportunities for the business.

  • Data Visualization: Compile and regularly present compelling data on the progress and outcomes of sustainability initiatives including development of program dashboards, forecasting tools, and other data visualizations.

  • Project Management: Coordinate and oversee sustainability projects from inception to completion using a centralized project management platform, ensuring project milestones are delivered on time and all stakeholders are properly engaged. Support the identification and mitigation of potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ongoing Program Management: Support day to day operations of sustainability initiatives across a global network and assist in continuous improvement and resource management.

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Strong analytical skill-set including but not limited to; data entry to centralized reporting platforms, use of data visualization tools, ability to model various future scenarios.

  • Ability to translate data into compelling business cases for sustainability initiatives.

  • Subject matter familiarity and passion for sustainability topics including net-zero operations, carbon neutrality, circular economy, etc.

  • Ability to drive decisions using data-driven business cases

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Essential

  • At least 2 years work experience in a sustainability function or organization

  • Bachelor’s degree; Environmental Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong technical background in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • Prior experience in project management & use of platform for management

  • Precision in data entry, analysis, and reporting to ensure accuracy and reliability of findings

Desired

  • Relevant certification in data analysis, project management, and/or sustainability

For Location:

USA - MA - Cambridge - Kendall Square - 500

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$84,000.00 - $132,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.  The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
