TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Picower Institute for Learning and Memory-Tsai Lab, to assist with research on the effects of neurodegeneration on neuronal activity and cognition in various mouse models. Responsibilities include using patch-clamp electrophysiology as a primary research tool to perform experiments in mouse brain slice and neuronal cultures. Will work closely with supervisor to help staff scientists, postdocs, and graduate students achieve their goals. The scope, complexity, and independence of participation in research projects will be commensurate with experience. As skills are developed, the position will involve increasing participation in scientific research. The Tsai Lab is committed to the intellectual development and career progression of all of its members.This position would be ideal for someone who is interested in working in the cutting-edge field of mouse neuronal network dynamics related to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biophysics, physiology, or related field; at least two years of experience working in a research laboratory environment; and experience with patch clamp electrophysiology. Seek a self-motivated and highly organized individual who is comfortable working independently and can function effectively in a team-oriented environment. PREFERRED: data analysis experience.
