TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE II, Chemistry, to join the laboratory of Professor Bradley L. Pentelute. Will implement experimental methodologies to rapidly synthesize and derivatize peptides using a new flow technology invented in the group; and ensure maintenance of three automated flow peptide synthesizers (AFPS) currently installed in the laboratory, develop the next generation of AFPS instruments, and manage ordering of reagents.
REQUIRED: a B.S. (M.S. preferred) in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field; at least five years of experience in the custom design, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of flow-based instruments for organic synthesis; and extensive experience with the LabVIEW software and Python and/or other programming languages that facilitate computer interfacing to mechanical parts. Seek a broadly-trained individual who demonstrates innovation and a strong track record of implementing flow systems for chemical transformations. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage interactions with other group members and understanding their research needs.
