City of Cambridge Transportation Program Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Community Development Department (CDD) is the planning agency for the City of Cambridge. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Transportation Program Manager will oversee the City?s Pedestrian and Bicycle Mobility Program, working towards the goal of ensuring that people of all ages, abilities and identities may safely and comfortably walk or bicycle to their destinations. This highly collaborative position focuses on implementation of the Cambridge Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans; supports the Cambridge Pedestrian and Cambridge Bicycle Committees; oversees consultant contracts; and has primary responsibility for managing the Bluebikes Bikeshare program for the City of Cambridge. The Program Manager will manage a transportation intern. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Division Director, the Transportation Program Manager will be responsible for the following tasks: Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Cambridge Bicycle Plan Ongoing work to implement all elements in the 2020 Cambridge Bicycle Plan Update. Manage future updates to the Bicycle Plan, including consultant management and extensive public engagement Cambridge Pedestrian Plan Develop approach and oversee future updates to the 2000 Pedestrian Plan; including consultant management and extensive public engagement Data Tracking: manage biennial bicycle/micromobility count program; Eco Totem data; ongoing data analysis working with Data Manager Oversee consultant contracts managing count and data analysis program, and other contracts as needed Work with other city department staff on the implementation of the Bicycle Network Vision; including collaborating on materials, presentations, public outreach and engagement; evaluations and reports Bicycle and Pedestrian Committees Oversee these two City-appointed advisory committees; manage meetings, rosters, communications, work programs, event planning, subcommittees, committee communications, schedules, etc. City Programs and Projects Work collaboratively with Community Development divisions and other City Departments on a variety of projects, including but not limited to: Urban Design Guidelines and Development Project Review Five-Year Plan for Sidewalk and Street Reconstruction Major city infrastructure projects and multi-use path projects Bicycle Share Program (Bluebikes) Program Management Manage the Bluebikes program for the City of Cambridge, collaborate with partner communities and oversee the contract with the operator. Specific Bluebikes responsibilities include: System and contract management, including overseeing a new RFP process for the next contract, working with MAPC; Regular oversight and coordination with system operators and Governing Council Fiscal and Budget Management Legal and contractual management Asset management; Station Planning and Siting System Data Analysis Working with Development Projects and Donors Marketing and communications; working with other team members on program components Engaging with peers around the country through NACTO and other organizations Research and technical guidance Follow relevant national and international research to ensure we are engaging in best practices Participate in NACTO cohort discussions and information-sharing MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: Bachelor\'s degree with seven (7) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
