Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Claims Examiner in CANTON, Massachusetts. The role is centered upon providing efficient support to the Claim Services Department in an office setting. As a Claims Examiner, you'll be tasked with a range of responsibilities from preparing items for imaging to handling customer service calls, all to ensure smooth operations within the department.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently prepare new claims, correspondence, and closed claim files for imaging.

• Provide back up support to the data imager.

• Index relevant items for pending and closed claims.

• Sort all mail related to Claims Services.

• Distribute claim kits as requested.

• Handle routine status customer service calls, document calls and refer complex calls to the Examiners.

• Mail claim checks and manage returned mail.

• Set up new claims as needed.

• Scan correspondence, medical records, and other claim forms and correspondence.

• Retrieve, review, and distribute faxes and emails received via the claim department inbox.

• Assist in researching information on MASS.DOR/CSLN/LEXIS NEXIS.

• Perform other duties and special projects as required. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a claims examiner role or similar position

• Proficiency in answering inbound calls in a timely and professional manner

• Demonstrated experience in claim administration

• Knowledge and experience in handling insurance claims, specifically medical and disability claims

• Familiarity with healthcare claim processing

• Strong understanding of basic medical terminology

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills

• Ability to work well in a team environment.
