Where is the work:

This position is remote within a geography. Boston, MA target location

What you will do:

• Actively prospect for life science accounts to develop new business opportunities

• Develop and execute account penetration plans to drive profitable growth for accounts within assigned geography

• Proactively build all aspects of the funnel, leveraging sales tools, to track and communicate progress

• Seek and build target customer relationships at all levels of the organization to deliver on growth targets

• Maintain strong understanding and be able to effectively communicate our solution offerings and value propositions to diverse decision-makers

• Gain strong command of customer needs and market opportunities to both position our solutions as well as provide input into the larger organization’s future roadmap

• Assemble and coordinate project / program development teams, as needed, to solve customer problems and win business

• Regular travel required to optimize face-time with key customer stakeholders. Up to 50%.

What you will bring:

• Driven to succeed: shows initiative and determination to target and penetrate new, complex life science accounts and close sales within a geographic region.

• Demonstrates mastery of products and service offerings and can effectively translate to customer value.

• Exhibits persuasive, strategic selling skills: influences the customer to take action by effectively demonstrating how Trane Life Science products are unique and valued over other industry participants

• Territory Management: Invests time properly in the assigned territory and focuses attention on the targeted accounts with the greatest potential for business growth and influence.

• Uses sales process: Follows Trane’s standardized sales process to target, interview, propose, negotiate and close complex accounts. Regional Business Manager navigates sales process stages consistently with each account and maintains accurate information in the CRM system.

• Strong negotiation skills and business acumen: able to assert ideas and persuade end users, financial buyers, executive stakeholders in areas of price negotiations, contract terms, product configurations.

• Demonstrates flexibility in being open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions or unexpected obstacles. Adjusts rapidly to new situations warranting attention and resolution.

• Bachelor's degree required. Engineering, technology, science, or business field preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of business development and solution sales experience required. Sales experience in cold storage, process equipment, or directly to large pharmaceutical customers in the Life Sciences market space preferred.

• Proven experience developing and maintaining high-level business relationships that produce results.

• Proven experience achieving high-level sales results including finding new opportunities and converting pipeline to bookings

Compensation:

Total Target Compensation: Range is $150,000-$225,000 inclusive of base and incentive with uncapped potential.

Total Target Cash represents a mix of fixed base salary plus payment from sales commissions. Sales commissions plans are uncapped plans.

Our prosperous commission plans grow over time with a successful employee’s growing pipeline. Some sales professionals may eventually move to 100% commission.
