Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Budgets, the Financial Analyst I support the usage and maintenance of the Syntellis budgeting system across BILH. They are integral and members of the FP&A System Services budgeting team, supporting the hospital facilities through the budget process and assisting with the analysis of performance each month compared to the budget.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

1) Assist in the annual operating and capital budgeting process, including attending meetings (if necessary), processing adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting needs

2) Financial analysis in support of business plans and growth strategies

3) Provide routine maintenance of the Axiom system for reporting

4) Assist in the development of presentations, including key observations of statistical, financial, and qualitative information

5) Assist in variance analysis for hospital facilities every month to support the month-end financial statement close process

6) Provide routine reporting in support of financial, staffing, and statistical indicators

7) Attend meetings as a representative of Finance as requested by operational management and as a representative for the department manager, if necessary

8) Keep abreast of healthcare trends and market development as context for analyses

9) Prepare ad hoc reports as needed

10) Complete special projects as assigned accurately and timely as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience

Licensure, Certification & Registration: None

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of progressively increasing experience in healthcare Finance.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Excellent analytic and verbal skills

• Self-motivated and dynamic individual with the ability to think creatively and work independently

• Ability to manage multiple priorities

• Ability to summarize and present results of analyses clearly and concisely to leadership

• Proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Excel

In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience with Syntellis Axiom systems
