Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Lead PCB Product Validation Engineer in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

We are seeking a passionate and motivated test engineer to join our Development team in support of the Allegro product line. This position is part of a multi-faceted team comprised of design disciplines including: MCAD, Signal Integrity, Thermal, Logical Capture, PCB Design and IC packaging. This position is responsible for the verification of the end users experience, to ensure our products exceed the users expectations. There is tremendous opportunity for growth in this position working directly with experts in each of these fields.

Qualifications:

  • AS/BA Degree and 5 plus year experience in the Printed circuit design domain.

  • Expert user of Allegro PCB Design. Ideally with options: Miniaturization and HSID

  • Strong understanding of Allegro constraint systems and ability to apply to industry requirements

  • Good understanding of complete design flow: logic entry to export of MFG tooling

  • Experience with mechanical CAD software. Ideally Pro-E and/or Solidworks

  • Familiar with DFX interface standard and working knowledge and use in the PCB design domain

  • Use of 3D STEP models in PCB design and enclosures.

  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing output data required for fabrication, assembly and test of PCB’s and various formats used in the industry.

  • Must have strong communication skills oral and written

  • Ability to work well in team environment

Duties:

Evaluation of product/feature requirements, examination and functional specifications sign-off, authoring of test plans, Inter and Intra feature validation, test automation support, authoring of bug reports, optimization of team operational strategies, Cross product team collaborative testing

Plus items:

  • Tool experience: EDA tools, AutoCAD, Concept HDL, SI tools, Thermal tools, LSF,

  • Design Experience: System design enclosures, cabling systems, flex and rigid flex designs, HDI designs, embedded component design, PCB Materials and stackup engineering

  • Programming experience: Pearl, Java, python and Cadence SKILL, Web design

  • Platform experience: Windows 7,10; Suse 11,12, Centos 6, RH 6.x, RH7.x
